Watching Battlestar Galactica TOS - Jack D. - 05-31-2009

We just got a new cable network a couple of weeks ago and one of the new shows is BSG TOS. I haven't seen this since it originally aired. This episode (The Living Legend) the Pegasus is taking on three Cylon base ships and Lloyd Bridges as Commander Cain is going after the Supreme Leader. Way cool! Sometimes cheesy old skool is the way to go and is somehow better than the "new improved" version.

This new network is called RTN Retro Television Network http://www.myretrotv.com/ and the website looks like someone built it from their bedroom. Don't care. No on screen logos, banners, pop-ups or other crap to litter the screen! I think there's even fewer/shorter commercial breaks due to the fact that they pay so little for the programming. They've got some great (and not so great) old shows and original retro commercials - I'm seeing a slinky commercial right now - that you just can't get anywhere else. Here's the programming list:

We discovered RTN when we got our flatscreen TV last year, We get it over the air. Our kids love it.

Lorne Green really was great in that show. Kind of like Max Von Sydow in the Flash Gordon movie; he was so damn good, he overcame the awfulness of the entire production.
