Floodlight wiring--can't figure it out - tronnei - 05-31-2009 Have a dual floodlight with a motion detector on my deck. Since I disliked the motion detector, I removed it. Now I have black and white wires coming from the house, and two lamps each also with single black and white wires. I figured I should simply connect all three white wires and all three black wires, but that didn't work. How should these wires be connected? (If it matters, the lights are wired to two separate three way switches.) Re: Floodlight wiring--can't figure it out - RonT - 05-31-2009 does this help? http://www.homeimprovementweb.com/information/how-to/three-way-switch.htm Re: Floodlight wiring--can't figure it out - tronnei - 05-31-2009 Never mind. Reconnected all the whites and blacks again, and now it works. Don't know why it didn't work the first time. Re: Floodlight wiring--can't figure it out - Lee3 - 06-01-2009 Probably got the insulation up into the wire nut preventing the wires from wrapping. That is what I do. |
