Thought the "Extreme" card was just on the newest Macs....but - samintx - 03-26-2006

I find my G4iBook lists "extreme"airport card under the "about" lists. Macs don't have PC slots anymore do they? So the airport card is listed as "extreme" type.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you. It's extreme because it's 802.11G, as opposed to the 802.11B regular "Airport" card. Most G4 machines had the ability to go Airport Extreme (iMacs, iBooks, ALbooks, newer towers, eMacs, Minis...).

Airport Extreme cards are mini-PCI, I believe. (Or at least share the connector)

No PC card required.

G4 PowerBooks support PC Cards.
iBooks of any ilk do not.
Neither does the MacBook Pro.

Yes - but Airport Extreme is an option for the iBook G4.
