Acrobat Woes - MysteryGuest - 03-27-2006 I'm using Acrobat 5 in X. When I occasionally have to assemble a large file from a group of smaller files in Acrobat with the "insert page" command, I'm freaked out by the fact the program doesn't recognized numbered pages in the finder and assembles a group insert every which way! So then I have to import the files a page at a time, which can be tedious with a large group of files. Is there any workaround, or if I upgrade, is this resolved in higher versions? Re: Acrobat Woes - johnc - 03-27-2006 Is there a reason you can't use Preview to merge the PDFs? Put all the files you wish to merge in a folder. Set the folder to list view, view by name, select all and drag to Preview. The files should be merged in the order they are listed in the Finder. Re: Acrobat Woes - MysteryGuest - 03-27-2006 Thanks, johnc, but when I do this, Preview just opens 10 separate PDF files. Could this be a Tiger feature? I'm still on Panther. Re: Acrobat Woes - johnc - 03-27-2006 Sorry, my bad (it used to work in 10.2, but broke with Panther). Here are a few alternative solutions, though: Combine PDFs joinPDF Re: Acrobat Woes - MysteryGuest - 03-27-2006 Great, thanks, I'll give them a try. |
