Drooooooooooooool! I am VERY interested in the new 70-200, but it also happens, my wife is also interested in going to Hawaii this year.

Oh well, maybe early next year for that beauty.

Read good things about the D40. Not sure what this more expensive replacement offers of real value.

For what I do, my 80-200mm 2.8 push pull is mighty nice and I only got it for $350.

I bet a refurb D40x for $270 or a D60 for $299 would do about the same thing

And not a Leica sorta day? - Z - 07-30-2009

But you're leaving out the quasi-medium-format, RYRF excitement (run you rich fools) - the pricing for the Leica S2 system was announced!

http://www.dpreview.com/news/0907/09073001leicassystemprice.asp

Pick up the body for a bit of pocket change, lint and $22,995. System lenses start at a reasonable $4,495 (SUMMARIT-S 1:2.5/70 ASPH)

Just like the $5k M8 being outperformed by a $1500 5D with L series lenses, so to will the S2 remain a tool of people with more money than sense.

Well, I tried to get my headline correct with the RYRF. Perhaps it should've been RYFWMMTS.

I wish I was one of those fools with more money than sense.
