Random trivia: Bobby Sherman's dad was our milkman - hal - 08-18-2009

Just thought I'd share...

Robert Sherman Sr - was one of those rare guys that was so nice, you just wanted to punch him in the nose. And he was our milkman in Woodland Hills in the late 60s.

that is all

I used to have that album.

It had open space on both sides. Not even a groove. The cartridge just kept lazily moving back and forth,
with only the edge riser keeping it from falling off the edge.

Hey, not that I'm trying to "me too", but I maintained Woody Herman's Corvette back in the 70's. In fact, they shot a documentary on him and one clip showed him driving the Vette out of our driveway. Fame brushes against those of us who don't manage to earn it ourselves.
In case you don't know who he was...

Woody Herman

Background information
Birth name Woodrow Charles Herman
Born May 16, 1913
Origin Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.
Died October 29, 1987 (aged 74)
Genre(s) Big band music
Swing, Cool jazz
Occupation(s) Bandleader, Saxophonist, Clarinetist, Singer
Instrument(s) Saxophone, Clarinet, Vocals

Leading various groups called "The Herd," Herman was one of the most popular of the 1930s and '40s bandleaders. His bands basically played jazz and blues, often verging into rather experimental fare for the eras in which the bands were playing.

I just realized how sad it is that you had to post the bio of Woody Herman just to make sure everyone
knew who he was. It went right into the same pile of the "75 things" post....

YOU YOUNG PEOPLE WILL DISCOVER YOU WASTED YOUR YOUTH!! JUST LIKE WE DID!!!

(and I'm still kinda young...., but I wish I had my late 20s back)
