corn on the cob - wurm - 08-18-2009

Bought six ears for dinner. My daughter didn't make it home in time to join us. Don't want to throw the extra 2 ears away, so will probably eat them tomorrow or Thursday. Ziploc bag, then fridge or freezer? Some other option?

Cook them tonight and cut them off the cob. Put it in the fridge tonight and it will be great tomorrow. If you want to freeze it, cook them for only a couple of minutes and then cut the corn off the cob. Put it in a ziplock and freeze it, and it's good for your Christmas dinner.

stick whole cob in fridge and micro tomorrow. Good enough for farm animals, good enough for us.

At least you can add butter/salt

NOTE: No suggestions on where to store cob other than fridge.

reboil tomorrow after being in fridge.

freeze and use for something else, chowder, soup, etc.

soak in gasoline - mount on stick, and hand a few out to the neighbors to terrorize the wife
when she gets home. Get everyone yelling "The monster must go! Kill the monster!"

Also... you could use those hockey puck muffins you made to throw and break down neighborhood doors.

Fridge, not freezer, for just a few days.

Won't the gasoline vapor be a problem if there is a pilot light nearby?

It must take a long time for farmers to microwave enough corn on the cob for a whole herd of cows.

Not really. You are obviously not up on the latest IG Farben industrial microwave ovens.

This whole thread on corn makes my belly hurt. That is one food I have to avoid for sure!
