Seems to be a controversy about a female sprinter as to her gender.

From the story, it seems as if there is precedent in Olympic history for men posing as women.

Because what it means to be a man or woman is very complex and fraught with political, philosophical and bio-ethical questions. It appears they are using chromosonal standard for what gender means, and the article raises the possibility that she could have a chromosonal disorder (so could be XXX or XY female or XXY male, I don't know the full range of possibilities).

There are also a variety of congenital hormonal conditions that can cause atypical physical development even when a person has standard-looking chromosomes and sex-organs.

It's possible that she's a man.
It's also possible that she's been training hard for the biggest competition in her life and pumped herself up and maybe she's taking steroids.
