Nokia CRT dead or dying? - PeterB - 08-20-2009

Hi everyone,

I have a very nice 21" Nokia CRT (Multigraph 445x), which when I went to turn it on tonight, doesn't come on and instead produces a fast-blinking (flashing) orange power light. (Power light is normally solid green when on.) I haven't changed any of the connections. I can't seem to find a manual for it anywhere, but I'm guessing the fast-blinking light isn't a good sign...

P.S. ... this thing is a monster from the size/weight perspective, and if it's dead, it'll be a beast to dispose of...

From some random google hit:

A blinking light usually means it's receiving no signal from the PC.

Yeah, I checked the video cabling, appears to be OK -- so it really is the monitor itself that's having a problem. I'm guessing something blew out...

Nokia stopped making monitors about 10 years ago. They were great - just Trinitrons wrapped in Nokia plastic.
