Is this right: Paid balance in full, and this month I get a bill for interest - Grumpyguy - 08-31-2009 I paid off my credit cards in full by due date and this month I am getting interest charges. Is that right? Re: Is this right: Payed balance in full, and this month I get a bill for interest - Grumpyguy - 08-31-2009 Never mind: http://www.creditcards.com/credit-card-news/credit-card-residual-interest-1268.php I'm cutting these two basterdish cards from Cititank right now. Are there any cc's out there that don't do that now??? Re: Is this right: Payed balance in full, and this month I get a bill for interest - SteveO - 08-31-2009 You have to call them before you pay it off and ask for a payoff balance. Even this is no guarantee, though. Amex screwed us on interest charges last year when we paid it off by calling in advance. They're all a bunch of b@stards. Re: Is this right: Paid balance in full, and this month I get a bill for interest - Filliam H. Muffman - 08-31-2009 I overpaid my "interest" bill of $1.02 by $0.40. That means it will cost them a first class stamp to mail my overpayment back in three months. And they will mail it because I am not going to use the card again until after I cash that payback check. Well, after about 2 months the 2.08 disappeared and digging further it showed that amount as an admin fee. I filed a complaint on the site, and last week they sent me a check. I guess it's people like me that cut into their CEO's 10 billion bonus check. :fawkdance: Re: Is this right: Paid balance in full, and this month I get a bill for interest - msienkiewicz - 09-01-2009 Yeah, things have certainly gotten worse with credit cards. I had something that was almost the opposite a few years ago. I had one of those '12 months to pay' deals from Sears. I paid the balance off in months 9 and 10, all but about $1 worth. Rather than bill me for that last dollar they credited my account. I don't figure it would work out that way this year. Re: Is this right: Paid balance in full, and this month I get a bill for interest - KimberlyCH - 07-12-2010 Yeah it's unfortunate that a lot of times you're only treated fairly by the credit card companies if you call them and hassle them. Otherwise they just do things and hope it slips by you. You can call them to negotiate payments though as well, so I suppose that there is a slight upside: http://education.cardhub.com/credit-card-trouble-minimum-payment/ |
