I can't even give away CRT monitors anymore - pRICE cUBE - 10-13-2009
Tried to unload a 17" and 19" CRT in decent shape at a yard sale but no one would even take them for the price of $0.
Maybe the thrift store will take it as a donation.

i had some at a yard sale cheap - no takers.
put them on the curb with big FREE signs, put a 'curb alert' on craigslist, and they were gone pretty quickly.

In California the only way to get rid of a CRT is by scheduling a toxic waste pick-up with the county dump.

Around her, I think it's against the law to have a garage sale without at least one CRT monitor in the driveway. And since Comcast went all digital, it's now required to have an old TV too.

Comcast going all digital (although around here, there is still an analog option) doesn't require a new TV. My mom's old 32" Sony WEGA still works with her digital cable box.

Shoot, in the last two or three years I've grabbed two LCD computer displays for $30 total -- 17" ViewSonic for $30 and a 15" NEC for free. I doubt very many people are looking for CRTs at this point. LCDs have gotten too cheap.

I've hung on to a 22" CRT, but it's all LCD's with the macs.
I DO have a Catholic School Model slide rule (all aluminum).

I just dug out my old slide rule and went through the instruction book to refresh my mad slipstick skillz last night.
