I'm just getting over being sick for the past week. I sure hope that was swine flu 'cause i don't want to go through it again.

I had "A" flu early in the year... but it would have been kinda early for it to have been the H1N1... But it coulda been.

I have a friend that works at a nearby USDA lab and he said that the lab was crippled by the flu. He described it as a swarming cesspool of pestilence. Generally, the Wa Dept of Health won't test anyone for the swine flu anymore, but several of the people at the lab self-diagnosed themselves then diagnosed others for fun. They all had it.
It's been a rough year for the flu. It is hitting early and hard.

I probably had it. Wife is pretty sure she got it last year, while pregnant... guess that makes the kid immune to it too.

A typical flu season kills between 46 and 88 children in the US. So far, the swine flu has killed 76 children, and it's just getting started.

Little Z had a nice cold w/fever (101°) for 4 days last week but probably not the flu. Gave it to me for about 2 days but if it doesn't last a week or longer and you don't really feel like crap, it's just a cold virus, not the flu.

Not necessarily, "...the virus does not cross the placenta per se..." It can take several years to build up immunities to the different strains. That is part of the reason children are so badly affected by H1N1. The main parts of this virus that the body uses to identify it, has not circulated widely or been part of a vaccinations for several years.
