Put one of the new outdoor security lights in last night - AAA - 10-14-2009
and it was not working when I awoke.

I paid $29 at Menard's. I think my house just hates fluorescent lights. Drizzling out to go look at it now.
My wife said it was brighter than the street light. he he..... that is the DIM one that I bought. I will try to get up the metal halide light also today. And I plan on two more, just not sure which ones/types yet. Here is the metal halide, 100W.

It's about 2.5 times the SIZE of the other. Plus the light is the BRIGHTEST of all that I saw at the store. Supposed to light up some 30,000 square feet.
(and I might get three of them total!!!!! Bwaaahahahaahahahaahaaaa.

You don't need a lighting expert you need a psychologist. Your level of fear is way overboard.
What do you neighbors think about your illuminating their yard and the inside of their houses? Were my next door neighbor to install one of those I would follow mstudio's suggestion and put out that light, or is that what has already happened?

Well, too much rain so far today and almost freezing. Wore my new Columbia rain slicker. Layers.
Went to search for my multimeter and ended up cleaning up my workshop from floor to ceiling. Never did get out there and look at that light. Put my tennies in the washer. Dried someone's laundry. Folded someone's laundry. Swept out garage. Listened to MacBreak Weekly. Talked wife into canceling her lunch date and to pencil me in instead. (She hesitated...I'm no fun to eat with)
Never did find the dabnabbit multimeter. Better clean up more space. Cut out (of packaging) the coolest thing I bought. To label my cords and cables, I bought this. http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/830-2416&CAWELAID=220602678 I want to label the both ends of every cable.
Oh, I don't fear anything wrt to the lights. I just like having stuff to do. And like to go all out when I do. Greenest grass. Brightest yard. Most Macs (around here that I know of). Best fuel economy ... reasonably speaking. Better dressed for average tasks, times of day, gatherings.

I have to go along with those who question your sanity. If you were my neighbor, I think I'd be checking with the local authorities to see if you were breaking any laws - and hoping the answer was yes.
How much research did you do on this subject before you started buying up lights? A quick Google search reveals what you're doing might have some unintended negative consequences.
