Not too sure the 6 year old did anything wrong. Was it the older boys who set the stage, told the neighbor their brother is in the air and possibly told the youngster to hide?

Not surprising. As someone on Digg already mentioned that sounds exactly like something a little boy would do: Let the balloons free and then realize you're gonna be in trouble for that so you go hide.

I know just how he feels. When I was 10, I accidentally set our shed on fire, put it out, called the fire department, and then hid out in our back lot. When my parents found me hours later, I couldn't figure out why my dad didn't beat the bejeezus out of me.
