for this thingy
but it's at Buy.com - I really don't like them much + there is that nasty tax...
I put the thingy's model# (as shown in the dm listing) into google and the VERY TOP LINK is to an amazon page featuring this unit for the same damn price and free shipping (and no tax to me in CA).
So just how hard are they trying?
I'm most perturbed... I saw it on the web... it must be true!
At dealmac, every deal we list is the lowest price we could find for that product, sold by a reputable store. That means we list the best deals period, regardless of our relationship with the seller, and we ban stores with a history of poor customer service. wrote:

I'm not seeing the problem. Amazon's price is the same as the DM listing (MB's link is to the CP1350, not the 1500 listed on DM, but you can get to that page from his link), both are free shipping. Since the tax situation is going to vary depending on the state you're in, I've never really expected every deal listing to factor in whether I'll pay tax with any given vendor.
So DM did list the lowest price, they just didn't list another vendor with the same price, which is no big whoop as far as I'm concerned. With so many vendors out there with deals coming and going, sometimes in a matter of minutes, I never assume that any deal site has the last word on any particular item. I always do a quick scout around before I click the "submit" button on anything I want to buy. If you're really trying to find the rock bottom price, that's the only way to go.

yeah, not a big fan of DM myself, but amazon changes prices more often that stocks on wall street. Maybe it was the lowest price when they searched, but by the time you searched, amazon lowered their price to match it.

Yes, it is $20 lower... read what they say. It's the lowest price THEY could find by $20. They didn't say "It's $20 lower than anywhere else on earth."

No one said they had to have thier eyes open while they were looking for these lower prices.
Where do they look?
Thier in-box of supplier submitted bids for the 'lowest' price ?
It's a meaningless phrase.
Or, one of those phrases that could mean anything and therefore nothing.

dealmac is not a non-profit corporation whose sole purpose is to spend their time making sure you get the best deal.
Many of those "deals" listed are paid advertisements from vendors, and of course, they sell advertising space as well, so give me a good reason why they wouldn't they give preferential treatment to their sponsors?
Most of the "shopping" sites work the same way. Just open your eyes and see them for what they are, and accept it. Or don't click.
