got the following response from a CL posting after replying to his initial "Still available?" response, w/ "yep.":
"Hi,
Thanks for the response.In a few days you will get payment. I will be paying by money order so give me your full name,address and phone number to make them payable to as i do not want to lose this sale to someone else. If you will keep it in my favor, i don't mind adding twenty dollars for the delay. Pick-up wont be a problem as i already have an arrangement for that.I will like you to also send me some pictures to look.
Brad."
the subject line on his responses is garbled w/ a bunch of stray words and characters intermixed w/ the title from my ad and comes from a gmail account. there are four good pictures in the ad already, sending pictures would only maybe make them bigger. it's a $175 item. scam? or just scam-like enough to cause concern? WWOMRFD? (what would other MRF'ers do?) Thanks,

...and by the way, I just so happen to have come across some unclaimed funds in the bank account of the unfortunately deceased heirs of Prince Oppopo of Nigeria. I will be needing of your most esteemed assistance in retrieving said funds, assistance which will of course beget you ample rewards. maybe we should find a way of spreading the news to others... I just sold some roller skates, an ethernet hub, and switch to responses that were basically the "still available" type from the same batch of current CL posts, though they also had full contact info and proper subject lines to start with...

only if the item being sold is referred to as 'the item'
