How hard is it to put a Larger HD in this MacBook? - Microman - 10-22-2009

I have been wanting to put a larger HD in this Black MacBook.

Hardware Overview:

Model Name: MacBook
Model Identifier: MacBook2,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 4 MB
Memory: 2 GB
Bus Speed: 667 MHz

Is it difficult?, what should I buy and where? Newegg?

Tired of running out of room, think it has 120 gig now.

I upgraded the memory and hard disk of my new refurb MacBook last week. It was extremely easy. OWC, I believe, has some videos. Still pictures of the process can be found at:

let me rephrase that:

its so easy that a video isnt even necessary

320 or even 500 gig drives are under $100

You take out the battery and remove 3 captive screws and bracket. Then the HD comes out. Doesn't get any easier than that. I'd get the 500GB Scorpio blue.

Stupid easy! Except the first time I did it . . .I managed to rip the tab off the harness . . . and then had to open up the bottom case to get the drive out.

3rd on the 500GB WD Scorpio Blue (I've got one in my early '08 MBP)

Can't say the same thing about the 12" PB G4. That was a bear of a job.

Look up the procedure for the optical drive on that one...
