WD Scorpio Black HD vs the Scorpio Blue? - h linamen - 10-22-2009 I notice several have recommended the Western Digital Scorpio Blue hard drive for macbooks, but why not the Scorpio Black which has a 5 year warranty instead of 3 years. I see Newegg has the Scorpio Black 320gb for $74.99. It runs at 7200rpm vs 5400 for the blue.... any problem with that? Re: WD Scorpio Black HD vs the Scorpio Blue? - robfilms - 10-22-2009 h- i might be mistaken but i believe the black is a 3.5" sata drive for externals and desktops while the blue is a 2.5" drive for laptops. be well rob Re: WD Scorpio Black HD vs the Scorpio Blue? - bazookaman - 10-22-2009 nope. the black is 2.5 inch as well. Re: WD Scorpio Black HD vs the Scorpio Blue? - anonymouse1 - 10-22-2009 1. I'm not sure the Black is available in 500GB. 2. Price. 3. Tests have shown the Blue beating other brand 7200RPM HDs. Re: WD Scorpio Black HD vs the Scorpio Blue? - bazookaman - 10-22-2009 now THAT is funky. I swear i JUST looked up the scorpio black 500 on newegg and it showed up at the top. I searched again and it was a 250. I must be going blind! Re: WD Scorpio Black HD vs the Scorpio Blue? - Grateful11 - 10-22-2009 I'm thinking seriously about changing out the 120G in my MacBook. When y'all decide which is best let me know ;-) |
