Vista Take 2.

It should be free to anyone who endured the pain of Vista.

Vista == Windows Me
Windows 7 == Windows XP

I think only OSX 10.1 was as 'bad' as Vista in terms of compatibility issues. Or perhaps OS 7.0, which was a bit shaky and had to be replaced with 7.1.

I remember when Leopard premiered, I went to one of the local Apple stores, and there was a line of several hundred people waiting to buy it.

Last night, on the local 10:00 news, they did a story about how one of the local Best Buy's was having a Windows 7 Launch Party, and they'd be open until 2am, with giveaways, etc. It was about 10:35pm, and NOBODY was waiting in line. The anchorman even joked about it, and said it looked like there was plenty of time for anyone who wanted to be first in line to get there.

Yeah, but OS X didn't have the OS X burger like Windows 7 does:

it's not Vista part 2 - talk to anyone who has been running it on their PCs since its pre-release.

Yeah. Saw Monkeyboy on the Today show this AM. he DID show off a REALLY slim dell laptop though.

I stand by what I said before. Windows 7 is the best OS released by MS thus far. Everyone should upgrade if at all possible even though it does mean funding the evil empire.

But there's one hitch and it's a biggie: upgrading is far from easy. XP users who choose to upgrade their computers to Windows 7 will have to either wipe their hard drives or re-install all of their applications. That means finding the product keys and old CDs. As a result, some experts say XP users interested in Windows 7 are better off just buying a new computer.
