USB extension cord. 1 and 2 compatible? - Bosco - 10-23-2009

I have an older USB extension cord I'd like to use it with USB 2 devices... Does the USB extension cord have to be USB 1 or USB 2 specific?

no, it does not.

From my understanding, USB cable specifications were over-engineered. Thus your old USB1 cable is fine to use with USB2. Of course, YMMV.

Hope this helps.
