Neighbor's Juicy Oranges! - kap - 10-25-2009 Their huge fruitful tree is hanging 1/3 over to our backyard 3 feet tall brick fence. I took a taste test of one small ripened one. It was very sweet. I looked over the yard and saw so many oranges on the ground and on the tree ready to be picked. What a waste! Should I politely ask the neighbor if I can have the overhanging ones to go with my morning breakfast, or would that be tacky? I understand that if it's not illegal as it's an overhang; I want to be considerate. Do y'all think I should take a hike? ![]() Re: Neighbor's Juicy Oranges! - clay - 10-25-2009 I think it would be best to ask. If there are a ton on the ground and on the tree, they probably don't really care about it and would be happy for you to take as many as you want. Would you rather get caught and then have to explain/ask forgiveness, or get their permission and feel free to take as many as you want whenever you want? Re: Neighbor's Juicy Oranges! - vision63 - 10-25-2009 I doubt your neighbors would care. Just ask 'em. Re: Neighbor's Juicy Oranges! - WHiiP - 10-25-2009 This would be a great chance to meet them, then. Go over and introduce yourself and the reason for your visit. Could be the start of something . . . hopefully, good. :dunno: Re: Neighbor's Juicy Oranges! - kap - 10-25-2009 Should I bring something, i.e. pastries, etc. to the first meeting? |
