Twin size mattress - Don't want to spend a fortune - kj4btkljv - 10-26-2009

Where can I find a twin size mattress, for my 9 year old daughter's new loft bed, and not spend a small fortune? Anybody got a good deal, or a recommendation on these? Thanks!

Jeff

I'd take her to your local 'we make the matresses' store to bounce on some beds. But don't get suckered into 'pillow top' and all that. A loft bed shouldn't be too bouncy. (bump head on ceiling..)

you might check IKEA if there is one near you. they have a $99 one that is on the thin side but might be just right for a child's loft bed.

Try Big Lots.

Costco. One of the memory foam beds.

IKEA had the best mix of quality and price the last time we needed one.

BTW, a 'no turn' mattress just means 'we didn't bother to make the other side sleepable'. That is not a good thing.

costco
no memory foam
but basic box and bed.. the most reasonable
i found for my 13 yr old

you can also get matress separate if needed

we just bought 2 at biglots -- they had them for $149 -- although we bought the better $199 one

they felt far, far better than the $99 ikea one

FWIW, i think biglots has a $10 box spring sale right now, and even if you dont need one, $10 for a box is a steal... maybe you could store it for later...

BJ's Wholesale Club or Evil Sam's Club.
