Is there any other laptop that beats the MacBookAir in weight, comfort and price?

Oops, I should have included screen size in the requirement. Is the MBA a has-been now?

The MBA is the latest Apple TV. A wonderful product for a market that may not exist.

The MBA is one of the lightest 13" units on the market. It really depends on what hardware specs you are looking for. You can get a slightly heavier 11.6" netbook with an Atom CPU and the same GPU in the MBA for $400.

The new ASUS UL30vt is under 4 pounds, has a better GPU than the 13" MBP and is supposed to have a 8 hour battery life.

If only Apple would give The People what they want...

Where I am right now, I see quite a few MacBook Airs being used by women and in Toronto I even saw a guy using one. It seems to be a lot more popular than I would have thought.

Re: the lightweight laptop - C(-)ris - 11-24-2009

I see a fair amount of MacBook Airs around. Usually business executives and Creative managers that travel a lot and give presentations. NOT the type of people who have any time or inclination to post on forums like this. Which is why the consensus here is that no one buys them, since there isn't any apple market except for the one represented on MRF Smile

Re: the lightweight laptop - RAMd®d - 11-24-2009

While I really like the MBA, I'd like to see it with a little more HP. I'd buy one anyway if the price were a little better.

But I've never had a reason to bash it, as is popular to do to niche Apple products.
