Well, these things kind of have a narrow focus. New or major revision OR last year's winners are the only pool of candidates they look at. And, below $80k or so.

I rented a new CTS last month and was amazed how sharp and snappy it handled. It was a smooth ride but unlike the old DeVilles of old when it felt as if you were driving on a fluffy cloud. My 6'2" frame fit in the Caddy much more comfortably than an Audi A6.

If I had $50k to blow I would seriously take a look at the CTS. And I'm happy that someone is trying to bring back the station wagon from the dead!

Apparently none of the new Toyotas are the best in their individual category. Within each category there are usually "honorable mentions" of the second-place vehicles, so perhaps some Toyota vehicles placed second.

Or, look for a nicely used one. I like the refresh they did. Still Caddy needs a bit smaller one, imo. Though, for taller lads like you, that might not work.

No, they've just become EXTREMELY boring.

Soft, mushy handling
Styling that could put an insomniac to sleep
Performance that only a grandmother could love.

Hopefully they've got a grown up version of the ft86 project coming out. Even the Lexus is250 is a step down from the previous is300 model.

They still have great quality, but that's not the sole criteria for this list.
