how to clean fiber glass bath tub? - space-time - 12-02-2009
I think the bath tub is fiber glass, and there are some stains that are probably from hard water and or soap.
Anyway, I have some "Bar Kepper's Friend" and I am willing to do some scrubbing. Would that work? anything else that is more effective but won't scratch the tub?

If it's hard water stains I would think something like CLR would work.

yeah, I used CLR in the past, but it seems corrosive, isn't it?
I will try to see of some manuals scrubbing does anything (could be really dry soap?), if not, I will try CLR

Don't scrub with any abrassive. It could damage the finish. Start with CLR.

Don't scrub. Mine got stained with iron and I ruined it scrubbing it with various cleaners. Now, it has dark splotches all over it, plus the iron stains.

We add a bit of (20 mule team) borax to the laundry for to help with hard water and I've used it to clean the porcelain tub. Just don't use an abrasive nor scrub too hard. Worst stains we get in the tub are the little green drip stains under the spout from the copper pipes, anyway.
If I clean the whole tub it looks a little shinier , so it might be cleaner because it looks it.

We use Borax, or Baking Soda mixed with lemon juice to clean and shine any porcelain and tiled surface.
