10.4 ... is there no way to enlarge the images in AB so they are not smaller than a postage stamp?

I am also frustrated with the small pictures, almost microscopic to my poor eyes. :-)

How about setting the point size of the font too?

Have you sent a feed-back to Apple?

I have never seen a way to make them bigger.

You can, though, if you have a wheel mouse, roll the wheel forward while holding down the control key on your keyboard. That will make it easier for you old, hard-of-seeing guy,s to see the picture thumbnail.

kj4btkljv, I tried that and nothing happened. Is there a way to turn that feature on?

Zoom is part of Universal Access under System Preferences. I think you'll need to check the options to set the mouse zooming.

It's also under Keyboard & Mouse.

Says "Zoom using scroll wheel while holding" then there's a drop down where you can select the modifier key.

Not sure about the Universal Access preference panel, however. I think the zooming can function without setting anything in there.
