Tools as (early) stocking stuffers! (for myself!) - DRR - 12-04-2009 Home Depot (and I bet Lowe's also) has good deals on hand tools, in blister packs, as "Stocking Stuffers." They're not quite as nice as my primary tools, but $9 for a pack of 5 pliers, and $2.50 for a 4 in 1 ratcheting screwdriver for household use (keep one in each car, keep one with my battery box for changing batteries in kids' toys) - are a great deal. It's a good way to get a spare set of decent tools as a backup or secondary set. Also available - all sorts of screwdriver sets with 100+ bits, LED flashlights (probably my next implulse buy when I'm in HD, you can never have enough flashlights), general "homeowner" tool sets with a variety of screwdrivers, basic pliers, small hammer, etc... all sorts of good stuff that can make your life more convenient. While I'm at it - new parents and parents of young ones - one of the best tips I ever got was to make a tupperware box full of fresh batteries. Keep a screwdriver and if you have a spare voltmeter, in there also. Because kids' toys take batteries that you will constantly be changing, and it's convenient to have a screwdriver right there. Has made my life easier. Re: Tools as (early) stocking stuffers! (for myself!) - Winston - 12-04-2009 Good suggestions. Thanks. - Winston Re: Tools as (early) stocking stuffers! (for myself!) - N-OS X-tasy! - 12-05-2009 So... tools as stocking stuffers instead of stockings as tool stuffers. Got it. |
