Ugh. I can't imagine having to clean one of those. Also, I question whether there might still be something toxic left over from the innards... and besides which, those were probably completely functional Macs and could have been used for something... it's not as if they were Mac Plusses or something...

1st and 3rd pic are from a 17" ADC CRT, which is as dead end a technology can be. This is a perfectly fine use for these. I have one and am now considering this mod (except for the cleaning bit). And I have enough dead QS machines (the 2nd pic) to consider that mod as well.

I loves me my old tech (posting this from a 12" PowerBook G4, which is sitting next to an 800 MHz G4 iMac which gets daily use) but there are a lot of legitimately dead machines of this age around.

Lew, speak for yourself! I am using both of those (the ADC and the G4) as I type this...
