good wallpaper companies - sandy08 - 01-30-2010 anyone know of good wallpaper companies they would recommend in southern california? Re: good wallpaper companies - Lee3 - 01-30-2010 Are there any, anymore? You can have mine- if you take it off the wall. Re: good wallpaper companies - Jack D. - 01-30-2010 I recently went through this and wallpaper is reduced to looking through the big books til you find something and then ordering it. No one seems to stock it anymore. Home Depot, Lowes ( more at Lowes) had maybe 20-30 patterns on the shelf and my local Sherwin Williams store, all had tons of books to look through. I don't have enough patience (or tequila) to spend hours digging through the books so I'm not a good person to ask about this. ![]() Re: good wallpaper companies - blooz - 01-31-2010 Good luck. There used to be a company out of LA called Van Luit. That was where the design headquarters were. We printed the paper at Katzebach and Warren, where I worked, in Waterford, NY. We were both owned by Imperial wallcoverings out of cleveland, and that was owned by Collins and Aikmann, a corp in VA or one of the Carolinas. Van luit in LA was shut down in '90 or '91. K&W, the plant, was shut down in '93 and equipment moved to another Imperial plant in Canada. I don't know if papers are still being produced under those names. My point is: if you dig around you might find a boutique hand printed place, and pay plenty. Or you can just go to a paint store (look for someone who specializes in paint and wallpaper, not Home Depot) and try to find a collection that is Southern California themed. If that's what you want. |
