Why Can I Copy Safari HTML, but Only Text from Camino? - mrlynn - 01-30-2010 I've switched to Camino for my default browser, after getting fed up with Safari quitting 'unexpectedly' several times a day. Camino has yet to quit after a week of use, though it did lock up with a radio stream. One puzzle: When I copy part of a web page in Safari and paste it into a word processor (even TextEdit), the HTML carries over. But when I paste from Camino only plain text shows up. I assumed this was just a Preference, but can't find one in Camino to have copy and paste the way Safari does. Am I missing something? /Mr Lynn Re: Why Can I Copy Safari HTML, but Only Text from Camino? - Jimmypoo - 01-31-2010 First, You'll likely find that if you create a temp user, that Safari will work perfectly. I have found that with all browsers - something gets them, makes them useless, and when it is my loaded identity, there are few things more annoying and nothing fixes it but a nuke/pave. It's happened to be with other browsers than Safari. Firefox among them. As for your other question - it's because the Camino people are mean and hateful, and have hemorrhoids. Re: Why Can I Copy Safari HTML, but Only Text from Camino? - Raydog - 01-31-2010 "Copy in rich text format is something that is currently not implemented in the version of Gecko used Camino 2 (Gecko 1.9.0.x)." http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1596165 Re: Why Can I Copy Safari HTML, but Only Text from Camino? - mrlynn - 01-31-2010 Thanks, Raydog; that answers the question. I'll bet the Camino people are just fine, and would rather not have us talk about their hemorrhoids. Camino doesn't support the Zoom button on my M$ keyboard, too, but that's not a big deal. /Mr Lynn Re: Why Can I Copy Safari HTML, but Only Text from Camino? - Raydog - 01-31-2010 You're welcome. Re: Why Can I Copy Safari HTML, but Only Text from Camino? - Dick Moore - 01-31-2010 I wish it was the other way 'round -- I love the save as text function in Camino and miss it greatly in Safari. |
