Macbook shutdown isues - ztirffritz - 01-31-2010 My wife's Macbook has started to shutdown randomly. No warning. What are my troubleshooting steps? I tried resetting the SMC but that didn't seem to help. It almost seems like a power issue to me. I'm covered through AppleCare through April, so I'll probably call in the morning. It should be one of the original installation discs for that MacBook. Run the extended tests. ... So far it seems to happen when my wife watches a flash based video. I can hear the fans spin up but that happens on every Mac that we have when watching Flash video so I don't think that is the cause but it might be an issue.
