How does YouTube work on the iPad, if there is no Flash support? - Jimmypoo - 02-03-2010 They don't offer everything in alt versions (though I know there are many that do). Apple is making YouTube an integral part of its capability of organizing your favorite vids. but if your vid is a flash vid (like the Mow The Lawn video!) - WHAT THEN, FOR STEVE'S SAKE?!? I think I read somewhere that YT was in the process of converting all their user-submitted files to a common format (this h264, I think) to allow for non-flash viewing as an alternative for these non-flash devices and maybe other purposes. Amen. I'm glad to see your choice of test video! It was a dangerous job, but somebody had to do it. I took one for the team. Next mission: try to convert that .flv to .mp4 and see if it plays any better. |
