Interesting...my 1st instance of being subject to a charge back (scam?) on eBay - Carnos Jax - 02-16-2010

I sold a 13" MacBook Pro (brand new, sealed in the box) on eBay back on Jan 7th. He paid me through PayPal and PayPal said it was okay for me to ship it (stating that I would be covered by seller protection). I shipped the item via USPS Priority Mail, and the tracking info shows he received it. I left positive feedback and followed up with him via eBay to see if he received it, and he said he did (he replied to me via eBay).

Today I found out through PayPal that the funds are held due to the buyer filing an "Unauthorized Payment / Chargeback".

I hope all my bases are covered. Don't know why I'm sharing this here...I think it shocked me.

Had that happen to me once (but for a $65 item). Sounds like they initiated the dispute with their credit card company. In my case, since I shipped UPS to the confirmed address and had a signature, PayPal sided with me. Don't know what the outcome was between PayPal and the CC company, that didn't concern me so much.

Did you have them do a signature delivery? That way they can't deny that they got it.

For some reason, USPS says they can't do signature confirmation for international shipments? Does that sound right? I wonder if customs obtains some kind of signature for these kinds of deliveries?

I just responded to the case in PayPal with the tracking number. They didn't seem to want any other information. I quoted the email I received from the buyer stating that he received the item and that it's in perfect working order.

I think that PayPal will take care of you, but it won't be real quick. Just stay with it, keep checking-in with them by phone.

I'm sorry, in my shock, I forgot to mention the shipment was to Canada (Laval QC H7P5S4).
