Agreed. I was thinking that a few days ago watching the fans shake cowbells in the faces of the lugists(?) as they were racing down their too-fast, toulouse track (yeah, I meant to do that) at insane speeds.

And really, in an event where all you have to do at that point is stay on your line and not get killed, do you really need a rally cry to get psyched up?

Cowbells have been a staple of the alpine sports for ages. I remember hearing a lot of them on the skiing and luge / bobsled events at Lake Placid '80, certainly. Must be those darned Swiss or something, trying to keep their cows and sheep out of the way of the skiers.

They need less of everything. I haven't watched any of it. What's the next event they'll add? Building snowmen? Sticking tongues to frozen metal poles?
