Google Voice invite question - polychrome - 02-21-2010

I signed up for a Google Voice invite a few weeks ago and haven't heard from Google yet. Anyone know if it usually takes this long? I see invites for sale on eBay but would rather not go that route since they're supposed to be free.

I had canceled my land line to save money and switched to AT&T Dry Loop DSL, so I am in need of a dummy phone number to give out to utility companies, retail sites etc. instead of my cell number. Used to give out the land line number because I am weary of unwanted survey or sales calls. Didn't have a phone plugged into the wall jack, however.

You know, you dont have to answer the phone when survey or sales calls come in... and its totally fine if you just "say no thanks" and hang up. =)

Maybe someone can send you an invite -- maybe thats faster? (sorry, gave mine away already)

I just received an invite from a kind forum member! Thanks, you know who you are. Smile

Life is just more peaceful without unsolicited and unwanted calls. Wink The Do Not Call Registry doesn't seem to work very well for me.

It took about 3-4 weeks to receive my invite after I signed up for it. Try a couple different email addys.
