Any in-car DVD systems out there? - Go To Top - 04-11-2010 http://blogs.cars.com/kickingtires/2010/04/ipad-could-cripple-incar-dvd-sales.html Another segment of business ruined by Apple. Re: Any in-car DVD systems out there? - davester - 04-11-2010 Good. The automakers have always gotten away with murder charging absurd prices for crappy dedicated and proprietary audio and video systems that cost them next to nothing. Those things have always been pure profit machines. Re: Any in-car DVD systems out there? - Filliam H. Muffman - 04-11-2010 Maybe if the iPad had a media slot. People might get a little tired of having to load movies on it every time they get in the car. Re: Any in-car DVD systems out there? - Ken Sp. - 04-11-2010 It has an SD card reader/connector and there is the Netflix streaming app Re: Any in-car DVD systems out there? - Buzz - 04-11-2010 If/when we get a new(er) car, we will check in to moving the $2500 dealer add on DVD system from our current car into it... and if it costs more than about $400 to do so, we'll go w/ the iPad, and hope the buyer of the old car enjoys the video system... Baby Buzz still hooks up the PS and NGC in the car, as well as watching old DVD's on road trips, even though he's almost old enough to drive now..., but he'd rather play video games than drive. The iPad offers the advantage of not having to mess w/ the game consoles in the car, and the navigation potential is a plus. I don't think we'll we'll ever opt for a rear seat entertainment system in a new car again. |
