You'd think the refurb store would have some good deals on the Core2Duos.

The price cuts on refurbs and closeouts of the prior models usually show up within a couple weeks after the introduction of new models. That is, unless they have significant stock of the prior models to move. Then they can show up quicker and with the price cuts a bit larger.

they wont be any cheaper than the "refurb" price from say, a week ago.

When the new iMacs came out I picked up the top-of-the-line version of the previous design revision from MacConnection for about $850 off the regular price, significantly less than what the refurb version of the same machine was selling for on Apple's site.
