wrinkles in my carpet - Mr Downtown - 04-14-2010

I had carpet put in my apartment before I moved in five years ago, and now it's developed modest wrinkles (or bubbles) in one direction. Because that stretch flows out into a hallway, the total wall-to-wall between grabber strips is about 25 feet. What do I do?

I would call whomever installed it and have them come out. I had the same problem a few years ago and they fixed it, no charge.

Of course moving everything out of the rooms and closets was a huge PITA...

I had that problem some years ago in some rooms from which I had removed most of the furniture during painting. I got an installer to restretch the rug; he was not the one who had originally installed the rug. The original installer used what might be called a knee-kicker; the second used a stretcher that had braces that went from wall to wall. The latter system was much more effective. The problem hasn't come back in those rooms.

Long walks of at least two miles 4 or 5 times a week ?

Needs to be re-stretched.
