Looking for a reputable developer to help port an app to the iPad - itsmylittlebrothersbike - 04-14-2010 As the title states, I have an app that was written in Microsoft .net format that I would like to port to the iPad. Is anyone currently using or know of a company that they could highly recommend? Re: Looking for a reputable developer to help port an app to the iPad - Grateful11 - 04-14-2010 There was a company mentioned in the "Planet of the Apps" on CNBC a while back that does just that but maybe someone can remember what the name was, I can't. http://www.cnbc.com/id/34316207 Re: Looking for a reputable developer to help port an app to the iPad - rz - 04-14-2010 can't recommend them as I've never used them, but there's an ad in MacLife for a company called Zco ( http://www.zco.com ) that purports to take your idea for an app and develop, deploy and maintain it for you as you "sit back and collect monthly checks" Re: Looking for a reputable developer to help port an app to the iPad - deckeda - 04-14-2010 itsmylittlebrothersbike wrote: Be careful. It sounds as if it must be re-written largely from scratch, not ported. I was thinking the exact same thing, but I know nothing about coding, and many other subjects. Good luck in your endeavor, imlbb! (The Wire reference?) Re: Looking for a reputable developer to help port an app to the iPad - Article Accelerator - 04-14-2010 I'd try to find a developer that has a proven track record in creating successful, well-reviewed apps. A 'porting shop' would be a bad way to go--go native. Here are some that look promising: http://www.mutualmobile.com/ http://www.secondgearsoftware.com/services/ http://www.myfirstmobileapp.com/iphone/about-us http://instinctivecode.com/ ...and maybe: http://www.artlogic.com/home Re: Looking for a reputable developer to help port an app to the iPad - Katie_Meurin - 04-14-2010 I work for Zco Corporation, mentioned above by RZ (thanks RZ!). If you want to shoot me an email (katie.meurin@zco.com) or call at 603.881.9200, we can discuss your app with a project manager and try to get you a quote. Usually the costs are incremental when porting an existing app. There are several customer references on the site (www.zco.com). Let me know if I can help, and I hope you're able to find what you're looking for ![]() |
