OK, nothing to add really, just hoping I can get a few more tips or recommendations.
Do so few forum users have monitors in this size range?

I looked into it briefly, since I have a 30 right now and was sort of looking to downsize.

To the best of my knowledge, no one makes a 27 inch LED backlit display. The Backlight in my 3007WFP buzzes like mad, and dissipates heat even worse.
I'd say wait for an LED one.

I'm going to be sorry I asked, but what was the price nearly a year and a half ago?

$690 shipped. I got lucky. Sometimes impulse buys are good.

I will be inheriting the boss's 32" Plasma. I hope it's 1080p.
The wall is about 4 feet behind the desk, making the viewing distance about 7 feet depending on how far I lean back. I'll have to adjust the height so I can look over my toes when my feet are on the desk.
