Do You Do The Double Honk When Driving Away After Visiting Friends? - Rick-o - 05-27-2010
I don't understand this ritual and don't remember ever doing it myself. It just happened again on my sleepy little dead end street. The neighbor's company just left, and I'm sure they said their goodbyes just before getting into the car. So what is the purpose of the double honk? Is there really any good reason for it? :dunno:

The purpose of the double honk is to piss off your friend's annoying neighbors. My daughter once had a boyfriend who thought it was OK to honk the horn instead of coming to the door to pick her up. I taught him pretty quick that it was not wise to piss off his girlfriend's dad every day.
