curing seasickness - mrbigstuff - 05-28-2010

I have not done any research on this, but some family members suffer from rather immediate seasickness upon stepping onto a boat. I'm attempting to find some solutions to going on a three hour cruise (cue the music...).
how have you dealt with this, just by taking meclizine?

I get sick just looking at a boat. I used to take dramamine pills. They sort of worked.

I understand that scopolamine patches are very effective.

why take seasick family members on a boat??? do you hate them that much?

honestly, I'd be researching alternatives to a cruise if it were me...

Lean over the side and chum the waters. Better than a BP rig for the environment!

Swim along behind it?

That was the first thought I had. If I got seasick that easily, I doubt I'd want to go on a three hour cruise, and I'd also probably be pretty annoyed at the person who was trying to get me to do it anyway. I figure if it's something they really want to do that they'd find their own solution to the problem.
