Followup to last night's post about first-time ebay seller (me)

Private feedback:
Possibly so you don't see all the praise from adultvideoemporium and pornoutlet.

24 hours-- a buyer is within their right to default to eBay policy, which gives something like 10 days to pay.

rexrzer - Unless things changed in the last 6 months, you DON'T have to accept credit cards if you use PayPal. If you have a regular PayPal account, you can accept PayPal payments for an eBay auction without incurring fees provided they come out of the sender's bank account or the credits in his PayPal account.

I thought eBay's rules were that the buyer has to make contact with the seller within 3 days, and payment within 10 days.

Can sellers make up their own rules that override the eBay policies?

$tevie, I think as the seller you're within certain rights to specify how you want payment, and within what time frame.

I did contact this particular buyer again, he claims that he will pay within 24 hours. Why there should be this delay, is beyond me-- I suspect it's a stalling tactic to try to get out of the auction. I will email him again if the second 24 hours comes and goes with no payment...
