Toast survey
#1

I took the survey hoping that it would include a comments section, and discovered that it does. I used it to let them know how much I hate the fact that they don't offer registered users a genuine upgrade price on Toast 7 and that I had not upgraded because of it.

If any of you are sick of software companies offering rebates instead of real upgrade pricing, take the survey and let them know.

You nailed it--that's my only dissatisfaction with Toast.

I do, billb.

FWIW, I posted as part of a review of a Lightscribe burner that the upgrade really wasn't worth it at any price.

Sidebar: Toast 7

I had also already purchased a copy of Toast 7 Titanium. Toast 6 can see the drive and burn to it (CD data anyway; I have not yet burned a DVD), but I got Toast 7 because it offered the capability to burn a disc with custom windows and icons. After getting it, though, I discovered this customization only works on the Mac side. If you do up the custom imagery (I envisioned doing backdrops featuring my logo or my client's logo) and they're on Windows, they won't see it at all.

The LightScribe software works completely separately from Toast. Arguably, you don't even need Toast -- you can burn your labels from the LightScribe software, and do your data burns from the Finder, music from iTunes, photos from iPhoto, etc.

Just FYI.

Acutally, no. I did get one e-mail about the v7 upgrade, but the $30 off was in the form of a REBATE.
