MS Word: Convert pages to columns?
#1
I've got a about 300 pages of mixed text and illustrations.

What I want to do is to turn each page into a column in a table, so that I can put commentary in the facing column, while maintaining the current page breaks.

Anybody know a way to do this? I've tried converting paragraphs into tabs and paragraphs, and converting into a table, but it didn't work--I lost the page breaks.

Thanks.

If i'm understanding correctly, what I would do is create a new Word doc with a 2 column table. Then select everything from your old doc, copy it and paste it into column A in your new doc. I cannot think of why that wouldn't work...but it is Microsoft. I don't know if it would maintain your page breaks though.

If I'm understanding correctly, I don't think it would maintain them. You could turn each page into a graphics file or .pdf and they could be resized to your heart's content. Or possibly manipulate the document size.

reduce font size and line spacing and then the right size of the page, then see if you can insert a text BOX in the right side in the new empty page and put your notes in there
