Wow....there's a lot of people making an assumption that expensive means better.
Wow, there's absolutely nothing accurate about that statement.
But this is a forum, so that's no real surprise.
As to the rest of your post, I don't see anybody arguing that Oakleys are not over priced. That's a given. The only pair I've had were a gift and I found them to be pretty durable, though I tend to take really good care of my sunglasses.
And sadly or not, form is often a function of price. Subjective sure, but the knockabouts look like cheap sunglasses, and a don't like the looks of any of them, even the Wayfarer wannabes. If somebody likes them or if there durability is what you say and it's the most important feature, they're a deal.
I like the style of those Oakelys pRICE linked to, and am almost tempted, save for the color of the frames. There is one style of Gargoyles that I like, but like the Oakleys, the regular price is prohibitive.
If Knockabouts had the same style, for $14 I'd give them a shot. But they don't.
