Deleting Mail account question
#1
My wife has a few dead email accounts she would like to delete. I know that if you do that, it will also delete all emails. If she has a good recent back-up, will she be able access them if needed? If so, how?

I think it only deletes the messages that are in the "official" mailboxes. Like Inbox, Sent, Trash etc. You can just create a folder "on your Mac" in Mail and drag your stuff there. Then when you delete the account, your mail will be stored safely in a folder in Mail.

At least i think so.

You can also move all these email messages from the folders in one old account to the folders for the account you will be keeping.

Make sense?

You have to turn on all the mail accounts, then move messages from the inbox to the keeper inbox, drafts to the keeper drafts, etc, etc.

Then you can delete the mail account, in the preferences of Mail.
