the camera I searched for would be 11 years old
it is likely in a landfill ( or recycled into any dozen of made in china and india unnecessary plastic items )
would have been fun to find a history of sorts where it has been since it was taken from the front seat of my truck

despite still having the battery charger I really don't want the camera back, although the powershot g3 was a wonderful camera in its day

Hey look, the G2 for $799...::o

yeap, some camera sell for ridiculously prices. My theory is that some people like something about those cameras and are willing to pay and arm and a leg when their camera breaks or is lost, just so they could get the same model. it is a way to make some nice profit if you do it right

I've taken photos of my cameras, lenses, computers, phones and other electronic equipment, including serial numbers, for insurance purposes. That should at least enable me to check Craigslist and eBay for them if they ever get stolen. And it is documentation that I have them, for my insurance company.

Useless...tried four different cameras and came up zilch.

I just tried it with a camera I've used repeatedly to post a quick pic and video on several forums, facebook, youtube and photobucket and the search function "ran " for less than a second and claimed nothing was found.
It should have found the pic in this post http://forums.macresource.com/read.php?1,1677651 if it does what I think it should do.

It was able to pic the serial number out of the exif data from the pic I dropped.
But I could do that without the app.

the Pro version may actually work but this freebie one didn't pass a real easy test.

not impressed.

I like the concept though.

If all they are doing is collecting pics, serial numbers and exif data, they got me.
