Really. The worst coffee I have ever had. I could only take about half a cup before I had to pour out the rest.
I guess that explains why it was half price on closeout.
Doesn't taste anything like chocolate. Maybe the Silk is literal. Or maybe it's flavored with silk worm excrement.

I picked up some whole bean Folger's Columbian a while back (cheapy closeout) to use as a backup if I ran out of "real" coffee (Papanicholas Special House Blend) and it actually wasn't horrible.

Chocolate and brewed coffee shouldn't come anywhere near each other. It's just... so... wrong! I am still a bit tramuatized by this gourmet "ChocoLove" coffee someone bought me for a gift 10+ years ago. I can't imagine how much worse Folgers could make it.
OTOH, chocolate and espresso work well together, though I rarely drink mochas anymore, either.

The word Folger's in the name wasn't a dead giveaway in the first place?

Actually, your standard fare ground coffee in the old fashioned coffee can usually is palatable for the first day or two-- it's not great coffee but there's a nostalgia to it.
I was referring to the little yuppie-style bags (whole bean should have been the tip-off).

I brewed maybe three pots of it over the course of 6 or 7 months, always out of desperation when there was no other coffee in the house.
Eventually I needed that back corner of the freezer back, so I thew away the rest of the bag.

I have no problem with chocolate flavored coffee in general. I've had some pretty good non-Folgers chocolate macadamia nut or swiss chocolate almond coffee.
I actually drink a lot of Folgers Hazelnut coffee--drinking it right now in fact. While I know Folgers isn't the best coffee ever made, their Hazelnut is pretty good, especially for ground coffee in a can. I usually mix it half and half with 100% arabica (different brand).
That's why I thought I was safe with their Chocolate Silk but obviously not.
