FYI: We bought these inexpensive Safer Brand moth traps at our local Home Depot. They have been the house Moths' Hotel California! Of course, we still need to store all our dry food in containers and jars.

Man I do hate moths, or at least what they did to my flour. Had a nice bag of whole wheat flour, opened it up and it was rife with some stringy web-like stuff that I figure must have come from some moths. Had to throw out the whole bag.
Now everything is in a sealed container or ziploc bag. So how do those traps work?

The traps are awesome. I buy a lot of Safer brand stuff. Less chemicals is better where possible! The moth traps work with sex. Er, pheromones. Moths are attracted b/c they think a mating is a-happening...then they land and get stuck to the sticky goo. I caught about 5 gajillion of them in my garage. Made the mistake of having bird seed uncovered.

mikebw,
Our ziplocked food weren't safe from those winged insects either. We have to use either plastic or glass containers. But now Safer brand has come to our rescue! Just like SteveO said Safer brand work wonder! Our next goal is a purchase of house fly's traps. The sticky strips were too messy.
